HTRC maintains contacts with grant specialists and can provide you with connections and tips to make your grant competitive and help you achieve your goals. Here are a few of the perennial funders for telemedicine programs.

Community Facilities Program

They will provide for renovation and construction and specific equipment and technology. Eligible towns can have a population of up to 20k. The application is once a year and is announced 60 days in advance of due date and RD staff will help you apply.

 

USDA-RuralDevelopment-Logo

Distance Learning and Telemedicine Program

Provides for purchase of computer hardware/software, computer network components, terminal equipment, inside wiring and equipment warranties. Eligible towns can have a population of up to 20k. The application is late May/early June and is announced 60 days in advance of due date. RD staff will help you apply.

 

Health Care Connect Fund

Provides 65 percent discount on broadband services, equipment, connectivity or construction but requires 35 percent contribution. Encourages use of consortiums.

National Telecommunication and Information Administration

State Broadband Initiative and Technological Opportunity Program

 

USAC Rural Health Care Support

Will pay for 25 percent of Internet access cost.

Network planning and network development

HRSA provides grant assistance for upfront planning and initial development.
